Emm Gryner’s second song at Closer to the Heart V was a Joni Mitchell song. At the end of Gryner’s set, Tara Spencer-Nairn, the cop from Corner Gas and one of the co-hosts from the night, came on stage to continue the show. Maury Lafoy, shocked that Ms. Spencer-Nairn wasn’t properly acknowledging the awesomeness of the set, interrupted Tara mid-sentence to point out that, “Emm Gryner just rocked a Joni Mitchell track old shcool.” The crowd cheered.
