A painting of me

The Princess Bride

   27 October 2007, early morning

Shima and I watched the Princess Bride with Renee last night. Neither of us had seen it before. It’s one of those cult films everyone seems to have seen, so I’m not sure how I had managed to avoid it all these years. It’s quite entertaining as children’s movies go. There are a surprising number of familiar faces in the movie: there are a lot of cameos. The movie also features Andre the Giant, who was awesome. This is probably a movie you should watch just so you can say that you have if for no other reason.

The Princess Bride on IMDB.

  1. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

I don’t think that means what you think it means. lol

such a good movie. It’d be perfect if it wasn’t for Fred Savage.

  2. What is wrong with Fred Savage?

  3. Children’s movie!?! :(

Also, I always forget Fred Savage is the kid…it really just makes it better.

  4. Um, definitely NOT just a children’s movie. This movie is fantastic, and there’s a lot you’d miss if you were a kid – because it’s made for anyone who has an imagination and a sense of humor and adventure.

  5. Man people are really touchy about the children’s movie thing. It is a kids movie. That there is stuff there that would only appeal to adults doesn’t change that.

  6. David bought me the book… and it’s not really a children’s book. A little too long and wordy to be a children’s book. Maybe pre-teen.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
