Jammed fingers = chipped bones

The first time I jammed my fingers was when I was in grade 6 playing basketball. My parents eventually took me to the emergency room when they realised my middle finger was twice as big as it usually was. Ever since that first visit to the hospital, I’ve learnt to take care of my jammed fingers pretty well. The first couple of times I would wrap it and ice it and do all the right things, but if karate teaches your one thing, it’s developing a recovery procedure. So now when I jam my fingers I force myself to suck it up and use my fingers as much as I possibly can. I find this way your fingers don’t hurt as much the next few days. The best way to exercise your fingers is to type away and stretching your fingers out once in a while. And just a warning, don’t put on your ring hoping to take it off with out any pain if you’ve jammed your ring finger because it hurts like a mother fucker, and I’m being nice.
