Snow Removal in Toronto

As a citizen you have rights, sometimes we forget that. All last winter I of all people forgot about those rights and just kept slipping and falling on my walk home. Not this year my friend.

After contacting my local councilor’s office this morning I received a very nice phone call and a subsequent email this afternoon to let me know that I can call a by-law enforcer to make sure Value Village clears the sidewalk in front of their property.

If you find your self slipping and sliding and falling due to someone’s lazy ass you can call the by-law enforcers hotline: 416.392.7768 (they have about 12 hours after the snow fall to clear their sidewalks). That’s for sidewalks that are infront of private property. If the area falls under the City’s jurisdiction you can call: 416.338.7669 (option 4 will get you a live person to speak to). But remember the city only starts clearing sidewalks when there has been more than 8 cm of snow.

Go exercise your rights this winter!

i was thinking about your article when i decided it’d be a smart idea to not drive today out of all days… then i realized the 8cm is a whole lot of snow to accumulate before the city cleans it… i’d say max 5cm

I have no idea what you’re talking about? :P oh how I miss you too Roshi.

Yes of course, this is the coldest season of the year. And the white snow adds thrill to the season. Let it snow, for we have this commercial snow removal for help. Build snow man and play snow ball throwing. Let us enjoy what the season offers. More often, snow build up can cause difficulties in travel and parking. In these cases, you may call residential snow removal for help, and they will give you the snow plowing service that you demand.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
