Christmas 2009

I always complain that if it weren’t for my immigrant parents I would have gone to OCAD and did something artsy (In hindsight, I think if I had pushed for a it a bit more, my dad would have been on my side. He’s a pretty creative dude). But that’s no way to live. Sometimes I have a buildup of creative juices all waiting to be unleashed. When I was younger the creativity manifested itself in all sorts of ways (e.g., one year I kept a journal of poems I wrote about every day normal things.). More recently, I’ve noticed I like producing things with my hands. I really think the reason I picked up knitting in high school, way before it was hip to knit, was so I could produce something creative with my hands. I feel like this year is the year of creativity. I hope to produce / or start at least some thing creative per week or more realistically per month. To start off with a bang, I decided to make a few hand-made Christmas cards for a few of my friends. Ram was nice enough to post them on-line for me. (They’re not professional, but they are all quite unique and I hope meaningful for the people they were made for.)
In other news: I’m working on a project with my brother that will probably take a good part of this year. But hope to have snippets of it on here sometime in the next few days.
NTS: I need to do a creative shimoticon.

It's Persian New Year Time!

Spring officially arrived early this morning. Unfortunately, I was asleep. But that doesn’t mean that we’re not going to celebrate Persian New Years like it’s the best new year in the whole world!

I didn’t get anything from Amu Nooruz or Haji Firooz. :(
For those who understand persiann, a little video. I’m working on finding a good English video that explains the whole New Year thing.

My shimoticons have short hair

This is one of the new ones. I’m so very excited. One day I will redo all the shimoticons so they look awesomer than they already do.

(I have to make my post longer so that her hair isn’t chopped off)
