Tiff, I’ve been told that the Scotia bank half marathon is a lot easier (it’s flat). I’m thinking of signing up for that one.. but I’d have to do it alone and I’m not sure I’m up for doing it alone!
I went and bought a new pair of shoes since my old runners are at least 3 years old. heh.. do you have training schedule?
well, even if we sign up for the same run, i’d doubt i can keep up with you. I’ve heard that the scotia bank one is pretty good too, although the toronto half marathon is downhill (start near my house at mel lastman square!).
btw, this is the training schedule Brenda sent me http://www.runningroom.com/hm/inside.php?id=3133
— it’s paced for four months training. so you can start this program in late May/ early June for October run. Right now, I’ve been running 5 times a week for 5 K each on treadmill (but exams have thrown in a curveball in my run.) will probably start running around the neighbourhood next week.
Tiff, thanks. When I emailed Brenda she sent me the same schedule. I will try to keep with that. I still feel a lot of pain in my ankles when I run (even with new shoes.) do you have any problems/pain when you run?
flat races are not necessarily easier. when i did ottawa two years ago (it’s suuuper flat), it was boring! and there wasn’t any shade for the hot hot sun, which would probably be the same situation with the scotiabank.
the toronto marathon is fabulous. imagine yourself running down yonge street, on a slight decline that makes you pick up your speed, with cheering fans around you. glorious, my friend. just wonderful.
