A painting of me
The requested page could not be found. I'm quite sorry. If you are seeing this 404 error page when you don't expect to, please email me and let me know. I have added my custom 404 pages back to the site.

Error: 404 / Not Found

What is a 404 error? Well, when you surf on the internet, your computer is actually talking to other computers via a protocol called HTTP. Hence the http prefix in all those URLs you see in your address bar. Now, the server has received your computer’s request for a web page, and for whatever reason, has decided to reply with a 404 error code. From the HTTP specification:

The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.

Confused? I don’t blame you. What it means is that the web page you requested could not be found. There are lots of reasons why this may be the case. Most likely, you arrived here via a link that is now dead. Or, you may have entered a URL into your address bar that doesn’t exist. Maybe you just have some bad luck. I’m not one to judge. Suffice it to say, this page is probably not what you were looking for.

Where do we go from here? Well I guess that’s up to you. You have a few options: you can use the search form above to search for what you were looking for, you can go to the home page for this site, you can go look at some pictures I’ve taken, or you can head to google and go find another site more interesting then mine. Finally, it is also quite possible you were looking for something on Shima’s, Ahilan’s, or Krishna’s web sites.

All the best, Ramanan.
