A profile of the (outspoken) Shanley Kane. (She responded—before the article came out.)

- Worn away.
Laurin Döpfner took an industrial sander to objects like logs, electronics, a camera, and a walnut, shaved off 0.5 mm at a time, and made a time lapse video of the results.
It’s so triply to watch.

- They are rebooting Sailor Moon.
Crazy. It was such a weird show. I still have a sailor moon pencil case that i’ve owned since the 90s.

- Before Shooting in Iraq, a Warning on Blackwater - NYTimes.com
Just weeks before Blackwater guards fatally shot 17 civilians at Baghdad’s Nisour Square in 2007, the State Department began investigating the security contractor’s operations in Iraq. But the inquiry was abandoned after Blackwater’s top manager there issued a threat: “that he could kill†the government’s chief investigator and “no one could or would do anything about it as we were in Iraq,†according to department reports.
Well, that’s one reason to stop investigating an organization.

- MetaFilter discusses tiny swimwear.
My friend Prasanna sent me a picture of the sideways man thong thing, and I thought it was a gag, but apparently not. It seems like it’d be easier to just go to a nude beach at some point.

- YouTube: OK Go - The Writing's On the Wall.
It’s pretty awesome, as usual. I saw them open for the Kaiser Chiefs in 2005.
After the show they were outside chatting with the crowd and signing up people for their mailing list. They came off as a very humble group. I really hope these guys end up successful, they seemed like a really nice group of people.
Hah.

- Giorgio Mammoliti stuns fellow councillors by calling Parkdale a 'pedophile district'.
Of course he did. Is Ward 7 such a piece of shit they can’t elect a candidate that isn’t Mammoliti? It’s not even that the guy is such a moron: he’s also terrible.
