Leah McGrath Goodman may have tracked down the identity of “Satashi Nakamoto”, the anonymous inventor of Bitcoin. It turns out the creators name was in fact Satashi Nakamoto. Update: He denies any involvement, and in an interview refers to Bitcoin as Bitcom.

Texas death row inmate Ray Jasper is scheduled to be put to death on March 19. He has written us a letter that, he acknowledges, “could be my final statement on earth.” It is well worth your time.

It’s amazing how well this works.

I use 1Password (which is amazing) to store all my passwords. After making the switch to that program I no longer repeat passwords. I actually don’t know the passwords to most of the sites I log in to, they all look like some variation of this: kfovwdzxiXYEkyH9b6YBKbEjgcbCGT.

Sexually explicit webcam material proved to be a particular problem for GCHQ, as one document delicately put it: “Unfortunately … it would appear that a surprising number of people use webcam conversations to show intimate parts of their body to the other person. Also, the fact that the Yahoo software allows more than one person to view a webcam stream without necessarily sending a reciprocal stream means that it appears sometimes to be used for broadcasting pornography.” The document estimates that between 3% and 11% of the Yahoo webcam imagery harvested by GCHQ contains “undesirable nudity”.

I’m curious what would constitute desirable nudity to the GCHQ.
