I don't drink bottled water either. We live in a country where you can drink the tap water. Why would you pay for some Evian when you don't have to?
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
Your experience with Toronto’s water system does not speak for Canada as a whole. I have visited places in Ontario where the tap water is not potable.
I prefer Toronto’s tap water because it tastes nice and has just the right amount of chlorine and fluoride added. Some people would argue that continued exposure to any amount of these chemicals would be a bad thing, but they probably got that off a website.

Ram you lived in Waterloo, so you know not all tap water is drinkable.
Using one of those Brita jugs works well enough though.

You can’t drink the water in Waterloo? I used to do it all the time. Is it bad for you, or does it just taste bad. And yes, I think if you worry about these sorts of things Brita jugs or boiling your water is probably a better route than bottled water, in my humblest of opinions.

Waterloo’s tap water is actually quite good, with lots of minerals from the groundwater in the moraine (Tiff says as much in a reply to a comment on her blog)
I drank Waterloo’s water for 4 years and I seem to be doing okay! :)

I do remember reading that Waterloo water is very hard, and that there is a high rate of gall stones in Waterloo and Guelph as a result of hard water. If I recall, I read this in a Waterloo newspaper.
