A Funkaoshi Production

I’ve been running a D&D blog for a year now. To mark the occasion I thought i’d write about how I started playing D&D again, and found an old email thread where my friend Dave brings up the idea of playing (the then new) 4th Edition of D&D.

Rumors swept through the mathematics community that a great advance had been made by a researcher no one seemed to know — someone whose talents had been so overlooked after he earned his doctorate in 1991 that he had found it difficult to get an academic job, working for several years as an accountant and even in a Subway sandwich shop.

This is an incredible story.

This popped up on my Twitter feed recently, but it’s an old post by Leftsider from 2009. It was on his mind again because of this other recent post of his on relationships. A part of me feels he’s done a good job writing about (successful) arranged marriages without knowing it.

My friend Steve has a similar project: 10th Commandment.
