A painting of me

Google Chrome - Download a new browser. ⇒

   2 September 2008, early afternoon

I've just grabbed it now. It is wicked fast, they weren't lying. I haven't tried using GMail or any of their services yet, to see if there are any interaction changes. The tabs on top UI thing is a bit strange to get used to -- I mean, after using the browser for 5 minutes anyway.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. Reader seems pretty speedy, but mail seems really fast. It’s not slower, that’s for sure. I’m gonna default it for a few days. I love some of the interface ideas so far.

  2. For those of you who don’t want to send your browsing history to Google, you should turn off the feature that suggests stuff as your type junk in your URL bar, and turn off the feature that suggests stuff when you get a 404.

  3. yeah…its wicked alrite!

  4. They were discussing this at MetaFilter. If you actually read the wording, it sounds like they copy and pasted the EULA from some where else. It talks about ‘the service’ this and ‘the service’ that. It doesn’t make sense in the context of a browser. I mean, how is that even enforceable?

  5. Also, these parody comics are pretty funny.

  6. I think the backlash putting all the blame on Google is hilarious. Do people not even read EULAs anymore? Or maybe “anymore” is the wrong word there.

  7. I never ever read them. I just assume they are totally unenforceable and go about my day.

  8. Official response about EULA.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
