hopefully just the end of Bad suburban planning and, as the article suggests, a move to more progressive and flexible plans. With most planning education seemingly very anti sprawl and more international in influence to me it feels like the problem lies more in conservative or selfish attitudes that some politicians and people/businesses seem to have to keep things as they are (that whole all-encompassing “what’s good for business is good for us” line).
Also, Zack Taylor was a guest lecturer for an undergrad class of mine back in the day. He discussed the urban form of the GTA and was really good. I’ve got a huge amount of respect for him.
