  1. I heard something about this a few days ago. That’s awesome! I wish I lived in Toronto and had a cool metropass! :(

Does anyone know what happens to old metropasses every month? Do people just throw them out? or is there some recycling program?

  2. I keep mine; I can’t bring myself to throw out a 100 dollar piece of plastic.

  3. Perhaps you can create an art piece out of all of the ones you’ve collected?

    What can I say, I’m just a genius! :P

  4. This is almost as good as “splitting” tickets.

Back in the day, poor Scarborough students would split tickets in half and put a new backing on them and use them as full tickets. I didn’t ride the bus enough to have any use for such things, but it was certainly an amusing thing to watch.

  5. I never put a new backing on split tickets; I lived on the edge. Another trick was jamming a ticket in the slot, and then having the person behind you push it through. With a steady stream of kids getting on, this ensured a 2-for-1 ride. If you wanted to raise the stakes, you could also go on the bus and then step on the steps at the back to open the doors and let on as many people as you like. I never participated in this, but it was popular with others.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
