Here’s my most memorable experience: A couple of months back when Les and I politely said “sorry” when asked for change, we got chased by this drunk man. His last words were “I hope it happens to you too. I hope it happens to you and your family too.”
Then 4 days later, Les lost his job. Another 4 days later, my home got broken into.
Anyway, that was the only time I’ve had a bad experience. I generally give my spare change whenever I see someone asking. If people can afford an overpriced lattee at Starbucks, they can spare a couple of dollars.
