Ask.Mefi: Moving in too soon? ⇒

   4 March 2009, late morning

This sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. “3 months!? Oh man, this will NOT wendell.”

  2. 3 months is just the tip of the iceberg. The girl is in a relationship with someone else. The girl doesn’t work and can’t pay rent. Her sister is also coming to live with them. What?!

  3. Oh, totally. It’s a laundry list of don’t do its.

I just giggled at the thought of saying something won’t wendell, is all. Great Internet memes have started with less. I think this one has a lot of potential to wendell.

  4. I got my girlfriend pregnant within three months. I don’t recommend it. Turns out there are lots of things you should know about each other before raising babies together. Who knew?

Also, I heard Science has recently created a latex device that can actually prevent semen from entering the vagina. Will wonders never cease???!

  5. Many years ago, I worked at CI Funds. My 30 year old coworker is at my desk because we are working on something on my computer, and my 20 year old friend messages me to say, “OMG, dude I work with (who is also 30) asked me out.” And I replied, “Gross, he’s 10 years older than you.”. And she was like, “Yeah I know.” And then I went back to work. A few moments later, my 30 year old coworker was all, “You know, my wife is 10 years younger than me.”

  6. I’m sure it works for some people. Personally, at 29, I sure wouldn’t want to date a 19 year old. And I’m not just saying that because my 30 year old girlfriend might be watching.

  7. I still think the 10 year age difference before the younger party is around 27 is just dirty and repulsive for some reason.

  8. Was the point of my story lost?

  9. Your story seemed funny to me. Wasn’t that the point? Like, d’oh!

  10. Yes, it was a cautionary tale of woe.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
