  1. not really related, but here’s the typical redesign path of a blog, in animated gif form. (via)

  2. That’s awesome. It is funny how ubiquitous that particular style of layout is.

  3. Neat! I agree with Ram that two column layouts need to die. Sure they are very effective, and easy but challenge yourself. Single layout designs are always creative.

Constraints are good. I think single column layouts are the new 5K challenge.

  4. Hi everybody,

That’s an amusing gif… I like it. I try to do different things, hence Jello, but this time stuck to a more conservative approach.

My favorite single-column design is Mullenweg’s, which I considered ripping off. (SELECT UNION SELECT to create a single resultset having the quicknews mixed in with the full entries.)

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
