Strange?

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. I feel like it’s not something you really want from your hosting service provider. Modifications to your hosting environment don’t really happen that often and this just creates another way for people to attempt to compromise your account.

  2. My host, Slicehost, has an API as well (and two iPhone apps for it). It’s actually pretty handy, since I could reboot the server or change DNS settings on the fly. But for someplace like Dreamhost? I don’t get it.

  3. They are adding a slicehost like service to Dreamhost. Most of the API calls look to be for that.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
