Reflections of an Effervescent Dreamer discusses Weddings. ⇒

   25 May 2009, early morning

Can you guess which wedding is mine? I also enjoyed learning Taiwanese weddings also require doing things at auspicious times. I'm glad that craziness isn't limited to South Asia. Sometimes you'll hear of weddings that start at 5:00 in the morning, because that's the best time to get married for the bride and groom. Priests figure out the auspicious time for a couple based on the date and time they were born, and where the stars and the moon are at that specific time. I don't think this is as common any more. I've gone to way too many Saturday afternoon weddings, so I'm thinking it's also not that hard to find a priest who'll tell you the time you like is auspicious.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
