A Year of the iPhone. ⇒
18 June 2009, mid-morning
The first time I met Mr. Angry Robot we had a long discussion about whether he should give up his stupid-awesome Fido plan to get an iPhone. He was unsure. I was also wondering if I should upgrade from my 2G phone and get a data plan, even though it'd mean I would end up with a contract. We both ended up with iPhones.
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
Heh. So are you gonna get the new one? As you can tell from the article, I’m holding off. The upgrade policies seem pretty confusing, too.

I looked into it: for Fido/Rogers you can’t get the subsided price for the phone till the 2nd year of your plan. So if I wanted to upgrade, i’d have to buy an $700 phone. I’m not so keen on that. The phone sounds like a nice update, but not enough for me to upgrade.

Oh wow, so they’re doing that, eh? Uh. I wasn’t even willing to spend $200, so I guess I’m super-not-upgrading now.

More details on their upgrade policy. If you spend on average over a $100 a month on your phone, you can upgrade for the subsidized price.

Still crazy confusing as per usual. Yay communications oligarchy!
Incidentally, I’m amazed it’s been a year since we met. The time, she does fly.
