A painting of me

Introducing Google Quick Search Box. ⇒

   14 July 2009, mid-morning

The developer of Quicksilver has been working on this, and it might be a good replacement for that program.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

Comments

  1. I still prefer using quicksilver

  2. I gave it a shot, but it’s not ready just yet. It doesn’t do half the things QS does. I’d still be using QS except it became super unstable for me. I’ve switched to launchbar now.

  3. I think John Gruber at Daring Fireball also uses Launchbar. I was going to give it a shot. I find Quicksilver pretty wonky, and it’s very slow on my machine for some reason.

  4. The only things I don’t like: no triggers, and you can’t select more than one thing at a time. But other than that I can get it to do everything QS did, and it’s faster and more stable. I didn’t try butler though…

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
