Sitting, Standing, and Bouncing. ⇒

Alternatives to chairs at your desk. I should do something to fix my incredibly bad posture.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. Get a giant bouncing ball. I have one. Mind you I still enjoy sitting in my chair with crap posture.

Or just splurge on a nice chair. The Global Malaga’s i used at work were awesome. I had pretty good posture when using that chair, it was more comfortable sitting properly in that chair than improperly.

  2. I use a balance ball at my desk at home. I also just recently got my kneeling chair back from my parent’s place so I’ve been using that too. The balance ball is pretty good still. They just encourage different postures. If only there was a balance kneeling ball.

  3. Weight training, with a focus on back exercises, does wonders for posture. It can be a pain starting out but eventually you’ll find yourself standing / sitting up straight without consciously thinking to do it.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
