A painting of me

Releasing the Chromium OS open source project. ⇒

   19 November 2009, mid-afternoon

Google has launched their browser-centric operating system. (Their launch video is pretty enjoyable.) This could be big. I remember many years ago I thought the idea of a WebOS was pretty fucking stupid. (Honestly, I still do, but I can see how for some people this will be great.) This operating system looks to be targeted at Netbooks, not at serious-ass computers.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

Comments

  1. A pretty good demo of the OS.

  2. A write about about the OS from Ars.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
