“Last week on Bill Moyers Journal LBJ tapes were presented detailing Lyndon Johnson’s decision to escalate American involvement in Vietnam. Moyers connected these tapes with the current U.S. administration’s quest for a solution in the Afghan War.”

That show was amazing! I thought it would be dry and boring, but it was mesmerizing and horrifying. A great examination of how one man went about making the decision to escalate in Vietnam. It was stunning to hear what advice he got from the military and how hedged in he felt by the war-mongering right. It was an incredible case study in policy making/decision making/leadership because he taped all of his conversations and because we now know how it all turned out in the end.

LBJ in my current cultural lexicon = LeBron James. My LBJ = far less real killing, just killing the rim.
