Why Tumblr Is Kicking Posterous's Ass. ⇒

   25 February 2010, early morning

It’s a Silicon Valley vs. New York thing?

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. Posterous is a dump for me for interesting things like iPhone camera shots mp3s for my friends to peep. I see Guy Kawasaki using it as a straight up blog (advertising propaganda sesspool) with disappointing results – rebrand it! 30GB storage drive like dropbox on steroids… but with posterous features and take over the world!

Marketing maverick! First time post badge on Ram’s site!

  2. I use Tumblr for actual blogs, and Posterous as a place to dump photos I post to Twitter. I think Posterous is fairly nice, but this seemed like a pretty good critique of both. They definitely need to switch things up, because I don’t think too many people use Posterous as a real-live blogging platform.

I need to work on my Funkaoshi XBOX Live achievements.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
