GIF, H.264, and Patents. ⇒

There is a lot of discussion on Mozilla sticking with Ogg Theora for video when the rest of the major browsers are moving towards H.264. John Gruber argues that people using what happened with GIF (Unisys suing everyone) as a defence of Mozilla’s stance on H.264 have things backwards. GIF is more like like Ogg Theora than H.624.
