The Chinese are very effective in this regard. HIV positive inidividuals simply disappear.

That’s all well and good, but what exactly does it have to do with the growing numbers of HIV positive people in the US—a country where people really should be well aware of how the disease is transmitted?
I would guess that the lack of proper sex education since Bush has taken office, and the lack of advertisements explaining the dangers of AIDS in recent years may have something to do with this upturn in cases. If only they would show the kids in the US a little Degrassi.

Its not that information is not available; its just people are not willing to heed any advice.
For instance, health education is mandatory in all California high schools. Yet California prolly leads the nation in teenage pregnancy and kids with STDs. Obviously more needs to be done.
The statistics are definitely alarming, especially the rise of infection among gay and black men. It will just fuel more prejudice towards these groups, who have for long been unfairly held responsible for the AIDS outbreak.
