  1. Many will say they want him to be the first black president. But you know what? Fuck that. I just want him to be the first good president in decades, at the least. I want to believe that a moral man of sound judgment, intellect, and integrity could make it to the top here. I’d almost… I mean… I mean christ, that might actually make me proud of this country. It does not matter that he’s black. It matters that he’s goddamned amazing.

  4. I think in the context of both Canada and the United States, it is reasonable to say that there is more for a man to overcome in order to become the first black national leader than to become the first good leader since the last good leader (if there ever was one).

    I also think it is reasonable to say that some of these obstacles are not necessarily limited to politics.
