  1. He may actually get two considering Rehnquist is about to drop dead. O’Connor (along with Souter) was the swing vote, even though both are Republican appointees. I have liked some of her decisions (abortion, boys scouts).

    Also, the President can only nominate. The Congress appoints them. So the Democrats will have a big say. It will not be a walkover.
