The frequent fliers who flew too much. ⇒

An incredible story about an unlimited travel (forever) first class flight pass American Airlines used to sell, and the passengers that used and abused it.
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
Doesn’t sound like they abused it. They used it for what it was sold to them for. Sounds to me like AA just realized a bit too late that selling unlimited anything is a bad deal in the long run and wante to rescind on their deal somehow instead of just realizing their mistake and not doing it ever again.
There was this exact thing with some ski hill operators that sold locals unlimited lifetime passes, and the only way they could break that was to sell the company and have the new company not honor it. ‘Unlimited’ just sounds too good from a marketing perspective, but never really looks good from an accounting perspective.
