Sandy’s Aftermath: Live Storm Updates. ⇒

   1 November 2012, mid-afternoon

My friend who lives in NY has been sending me updates. He was talking about people siphoning power for their phones at banks. It sounds very post-apocalyptic.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. All of the group electronics charging situations were completely civilized. Some people just left power strips at the TD at 26th and 7th. You could even leave your phone and go get a coffee if you wanted. I also some some strips provided by AMC at their theatre. People were charging wherever there was a free outlet including the ones used for lights on city trees, and the ones in scaffolding. I eventually saw street charging stations powered by generators.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
