A painting of me

Of Lux, the strategy game and bane of productivity. ⇒

   18 August 2005, early evening

A sort of review of this RISK clone called Lux that looks awesome. (An aside, I wonder if I will regret my constant use of the word awesome in years to come.)

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. The picture of your mom in your design is quite beautiful. Do be sure to have it archived somewhere.

  2. Thanks; the photo in the corner is the current photo from my photoblog, so it is archived there. The thumbnail changes as I post new photos, usually daily.

  3. The maps seem pretty interesting. But I think if you enjoy risk and play it often, you’ll find other more recent games a little more exciting. Like Settlers, or even the updated Risk.

Sometimes it’s nice to go back and play the classics, but once you get over the nostalgia, there really are more advanced (yet still old school in structure) and satisfying games out there.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
