Engadget: Sony throws down a new Walkman. ⇒

   8 September 2005, early afternoon

That's a slick looking MP3 player.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

Comments

  1. That’s a really nice screen.

  2. That thing looks like an Audion skin. Pure dopeness.

  3. But can it play mp3s?! (I know that’s below the belt. Nice to see Sony trying something good.)

  4. According to the article, it supports both MP3 and ATRAC3plus formats.

  5. Really? I don’t think it looks nice at all.

  6. I have to agree with Dave on this one. I like the fact that the display is seamless, but on the whole it’s pretty ugly.

  7. I wish the buttons weren’t sunk into the unit. The thing looks cool, like it is out of an anime.

  8. at work we tossed around the idea of a similar unit with the buttons seamless as well, like maybe implemented by a touch-display. That’d allow for context-sensitivity too…save on UI space.

Ram: I think it looks better that way. From the pictures (admittedly not much to go on) it doesn’t look like they’re so sunk in as to provide no tactile feedback as to whether or not you’re pushing the right (or any) button.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
