Shadi Ghadirian is a photographer living in Iran. The second gallery is very interesting. This link was found via Metafilter.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. Sometimes I wished I lived in Iran just so I could wear pretty chadors. I have one my mom made for me, it’s mostly yellow, I don’t think I’d be allowed to wear that though.

  2. Shimo, the beauty of Canada is you can wear a Chador if you want. You can even have some flecks of hair showing at the front.

  3. Would you walk with me and hold my hand if I wore a yellow chador? Because I’m sure I can ask my mom to find me my yellow one!

    I can’t WAIT!! :D

  4. Yeah, why not? I think you’d be more shy wearing it than I would be walking with you. Funny how a veil makes you more conspicuous here in Canada—it kind of serves the opposite purpose.

  5. That is true! You win this round!

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
