Bennybox: A visit from an Apple industrial designer ⇒

Some interesting tid-bits on what goes on at Apple. Simon is working there right now in the powerbooks group. He says they won't tell him shit about anything going on in the company.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. I shall speculate that Simon has to say that so he doesn’t get tempted to tell you about anything going on in the company. If I ever worked at Apple, I’d probably have to stop blogging altogether.

  2. No, i’m pretty sure they actually keep him in the dark about pretty much everything. He was explaining how all the groups are insullated from one another, so for example, the OS group might not even know what sorts of newm machines they will need to support their OS on. Also, I think he was so far down the food-chain no one felt obliged to tell him anything. I need him to smuggle up some Apple hardware on the cheap befor he leaves!

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
