Yeah, I agree with you. She should not have been selected at first because of her lack of experience. But it was a predictable move: Bush pushing one of his friends.
The problem is they seem to be selected thanks to a litmus test. That’s just plain stupid. A judge should never tell how he / she will vote on a particular issue. That means you have prejudice / bias that you will be bringing to the court. Decisions should be made on the merit of the case. So yeah my beef is with the whole selection / nomination process.
John Roberts was a good choice and Miers (her lack of experience with standing) was the best we could have hoped from Bush. I wonder who is the next sucker.
