Miers had the privilege of being disliked by both the Right and the Left.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. exactly why she was a good choice.

  2. I think her total lack of experience made her a bad choice.

  3. Yeah, I agree with you. She should not have been selected at first because of her lack of experience. But it was a predictable move: Bush pushing one of his friends.

The problem is they seem to be selected thanks to a litmus test. That’s just plain stupid. A judge should never tell how he / she will vote on a particular issue. That means you have prejudice / bias that you will be bringing to the court. Decisions should be made on the merit of the case. So yeah my beef is with the whole selection / nomination process.

John Roberts was a good choice and Miers (her lack of experience with standing) was the best we could have hoped from Bush. I wonder who is the next sucker.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
