Kottke: Shanghai Tang. ⇒
11 November 2005, lunch time
My friend Howard and Tony told me a story about their trip to Hong Kong, some time ago. They wanted to go a restaurant in Hong Kong, but were both wearing shorts. They walked to a store near the restaurant, and both bought a pair of pants. As with much of the clothing in Hong Kong, the pants were probably a couple dollars. They changed into their new pants, threw away the shorts they were wearing, and headed back to the restaurant where they were seated. Jason has yet to learn that the key to shopping in Hong Kong is realizing you have access to a huge array of disposable clothing. I say, "Buy those orange jeans!"
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
BTW, what do you think about Kottke’s reader sponsored vacations?

About the same way I feel about all his other reader sponsored initiatives.

No, don’t get me wrong. I think his posts from Hong Kong have been some of the best. I would love to go there now. I think its wonderful that the web would make something like this possible.
