  1. I was a bit disappointed really. Jon Stewart was making all the point, and Kerry was just laughing and making general points. Clinton was a lot wittier – but then I guess that’s not a necessary quality of a president. ;)

You can get all the torrents for the Daily Show if you google for shuntv (though they seem to be down at the moment).

  2. Why were you disappointed? Kerry’s not Clinton, as was discussed to death during the DNC. I was actually impressed by Kerry (it all has to do with expectations, I guess) in that he was able to make fun of himself a bit and look relatively relaxed, at least at times. Doing the Daily Show isn’t really about making political points (though sometimes that happens), it’s about being a little funny and getting exposure to a demographic that doesn’t necessarily watch CNN or DNC/RNC coverage.

I liked the moment when the had the moch face-off b/w Kerry and Stewart.

Clinton is an exceptional orator – this is well understood. I think it’s necessary to be a decent communicator to be a good president but not necessarily an exceptional one. And those two are not iff statements either – Reagan was known as the “Great Communicator” even if some of his policies as president were less than sound.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
