Evhead: Blogger Web Comments for Firefox. ⇒

   16 December 2005, lunch time

This is a very impressive plugin, if you use Firefox you should definitely check it out.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. I upgraded FF, and got the plug-in. So far, I am not finding it that useful. But I’ve been using it for all of 10 minutes.

It looks like there are no options, i.e. to pick only certain types of comments. Second, I was on a popular site, and it looks like the blog items are related the site as a whole and not the page I’m reading, so it’s not that useful when there are so many random blog comments.

I’ll continue to give it a try, and see if much comes out of it. I guess I’m just used to having high quality links, like those found here. =)

  2. Well, I’ve taken it off my system. I just started to get a little worried when it was searching and finding blog entries for secured sites, and that I hadn’t found any relevant at all.

  3. I’d have to agree with you Victor. The implementation is good, but the actual content Google kicks back is pretty lacking. And yeah, there is always the I-am-sending-all-my-data-to-google problem.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
