  1. It happens all the time, no one ever talks about it though.

  2. Well now people are.

  3. They can’t what now to the what what?

  4. What?

  5. “since they can’t his activist arrest his son” should be unscrambled, my dyslexic young friend.

  6. Word. Less dyslexia now?

  7. I don’t know what the big deal this is compared to the fact that the mullahs are about to hang a 16 yr old girl.

I suppose we are supposed to take heart that thanks to German human rights intervention, she will not be stoned to death.

BTW her crime was pre-marital sex.

Puts Guantanomo into perspective doesn’t it?

  8. I think that girl was hanged, at least according to Amnesty International. That is also not good.

How does that make Guantanomo less bad, I don’t follow. Frankly, I expect more from the US then Iran. Sometimes when I read the newspaper though, I think that perhaps that is asking too much of the country.

  9. Also, the US is one of the few countries in the world that still executes children. “Since 1990, the United States has executed more child offenders than all other nations combined.” So I wouldn’t bring up Iran’s execution of a child as some defence of the United States. I think the US is still quite barbaric at times.

  10. Yeah, I agree. I got carried away there. I apologize.

Yes, we cannot justify Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib. And comparing ourselves to Iraq and Iran is just wrong. We should be much better. I see the fallacy in my argument.

But what troubles me most is the crime. You cannot equate murder with pre-marital sex. But then again it doesn’t justify death penalty for children.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
