Tanenbaum has some very compelling points in his argument. i.e. (1) I think that hiding information (a la Dave Parnas is a good idea. and (2) The average user does not care about even more features or squeezing the last drop of performance out of the hardware, but cares a lot about having the computer work flawlessly 100% of the time and never crashing. As well as the technical points in MINIX 3 Reliability
Is there a similar concise essay available outlining Linus’s position?

Beyond the stuff i’ve posted here in the past, I haven’t found anything; nothing as well layed out as this article at least.
