A painting of me

YouTube: BumpTop 3D Desktop Prototype. ⇒

22 June 2006, the wee hours

This is a very slick looking desktop UI. It models an actual desk, with files being piled together or strewn about on the desktop. It's a very cool implementation that uses a pen for manipulating your interaction with your files. Still, I am not sure how useful this would be in day to day usage. The opening of the video is funny, though I'm not sure if its meant to be or not. This link was found via Patrick.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. That was incredible. It was done so well. But I agree with you that it may not be worth the effort to use from day to day.

  2. It’s definitely not the most organized in the traditonal sense, but a great idea if you’re looking for a creative alternative. I like.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
