Toronto high school expels Linux lab. ⇒

   7 July 2006, mid-afternoon

Well obviously children won't need to know anything about how to work with Linux in the future. I heard Linux is going no where fast.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

Comments

  1. Linux is by and large a geek and hobbyist OS and it is likely to remain so as long as the various distributions fragment the market.

  2. Ubuntu seems to be moving in the right direction. Anyway, in a computer lab where people are just going to surf the net, type of essays, and do crap like that, the difference between Linux and Windows is pretty small I would say.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
