Toronto Sun: Cops target source of deadly pill. ⇒
27 July 2006, mid-afternoon
A girl from Ajax died after taking some Ecstasy. Apparently dealers have been mixing Crytal Meth in to the pills they have been selling. Meth is probably much cheaper and easier to get then MDMA. (I'm guessing anyway.) Also, anyone have a guess as to why you would pop a pill and then go shopping.
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
I would think it’s very common for drug dealers to have no clue whatsoever regarding the true ingredients making up their product.
I’m curious to know where the liability lies in the sale/purchase/consumption of a schedule 1 substance? All drugs are cut with something (even Tylenol), and you would be a fool for assuming otherwise.

True, but I would imagine people buying ecstasy assume it’s being cut with arsenic and rat poison, and not with Crystal Meth. If the pill is 80% Meth, is it really an ecstasy pill anymore?

Most people I know that were heavy e users would be popping them at all times of the day doing whatever. E isn’t a depressant so it’s not like you can’t function, or have less inclination to do activities.

Cutting anything with rat poison serves little to no purpose.
The ultimate goal of most businesses, is to meet the client’s expectations at the lowest possible cost. I doubt most ecstasy users have ever had a pure pill, so mixing the ingredients doesn’t really make a difference. Also, it’s not a regulated industry and production is limited to small amounts produced in clandestine labs, so inconsistency is accepted by the end-user.
Meth is probably a very common agent for cutting MDMA since it does not diminish the ‘rush’.
As for 15 year-olds dropping science and heading to the mall? What else do you expect them to do? Prep for the upcoming fall term?

she was 15, and people this age do not think like adults. Death is a high price to pay for one mistake.

I had no idea what a problem meth is until I moved to the west coast. this isn’t the last article you’re going to see about the effects of meth.
frontline has a really great episode on the meth epidemic

It’s actually in the news here often enough. The Fifth Estate did a documentary on the subject as well.
