The Star covers bike theft in the city. ⇒
9 August 2006, early afternoon
When Haran and I watched a bike getting stolen, the thief twisted the chain used to secure it round and round till it snapped. It took a fair amount of time, but as evidenced by mine and Haran's inaction, that doesn't matter so much.
This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.
I think I will just ride my bicycle inside
yourour apartment. People will totally want to steal my pretty bike.[ed. fixed typo]

We can take a picture of you and your bike and write a note about how much you love it and glue it to your bike lock; then people will feel really guily when they even think about stealing it.

my fancy new bike got stolen in front of UT (scarborough..), it pissed me off to know end that 1) no one cared even though it must of happened in front of at least 5 people and that 2) they snapped the lock so easily.
a week later, I got an old rust bucket from a friend who hadn’t used hers since highschool. fixed it up, and de-girlified it, now i don’t even need (or use) a lock.
been great for the last 5 months.
