A painting of me

Tomorrow night you can play Capture the Flag downtown. ⇒

It's like playing in a field, only you need to watch out for cars.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. this happened in my neighbourhood, so I went to spectate.

spent a bunch of time down in First Canadian Place, because it was right near the border between the red and blue sides. There was a steady trickle of people passing through, but most on the same team. Everytime you walked by someone, you’d stare at each other looking for the red/blue markers (I think they were confused this random dude eating on a bench in the PATH who evidently wasn’t playing). I only saw one confrontation the whole time (~1hr) I was down there, someone sprinted off and the other guy gave up the chase after about…3 seconds. I was disappointed that more players weren’t making use of the PATH, although it’s kinda easy to get lost down there (IMO).

headed outside and there were a ton of people walking around, but not much action. I asked someone and they said that it was ~900 people playing, and the flag positions were basically impenetrable because so many people were just kind of hanging out nearby. But I overheard a lot of comments about how pointless it was with that many people in that space…not totally newmindspace’s fault, I guess.

best things I saw all night: someone chasing an opponent with a skateboard, who tossed it down, hopped on, twisted to narrowly avoid being tagged (no small feat, I imagine, on a skateboard), then got in a good push with his foot and was gone. And a pack of people sitting on some steps on Bay St., playing DS.

  2. I was out with my friends at the Keg Friday night when we saw a bunch of people running around. They were all confused, as was I, till I remember what was going on. The red team one 3-0.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
