A painting of me

U.S. new home prices fall 9.7% in September. ⇒

That is the biggest drop in the last 36 years. I haven't found stats for Canada yet, but it is my understanding things aren't nearly as bad here.

  1. The fall in housing prices has been under intense media scrutiny for the last 3 months, pockets of overpriced areas in the US have been falling. There is a prediction that all prices will be coming down soon in the US, and to some extent in Canada. The real issue is if the fall will be at a reasonable pace, or if it will be a bubble bursting as has been the case in a few upscale areas around Boston, New York and California.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
