A painting of me

An interview with Wil Shipley of Delicious Monster. ⇒

   14 December 2006, mid-morning

There is a lot of interesting stuff here. I bought Delicious Monster a while back, but never really use it that much. (I agree with his view on software piracy: "It's like with piracy: who cares if someone steals your application if they were never going to buy it in the first place?")

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. I kind of don’t totally disagree with that view of piracy. For example, I would never, unless I actually became a professional photographer, be willing to dish out the money for Photoshop. I would find another solution to my photo editing needs. But I do have Photoshop, and I advocate for its use, and thereby increase its reputation and general ubiquity. So I am doing some level of service for a company to whom I’d never pay the exorbitant cost of their software. I know it’s not totally legit, but that’s how I tend to see it, in that case.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
