Six Apart to buy Live Journal? ⇒

5 January 2005, the wee hours

They are trying to get that whiney teenager market I suppose. This link was found via Waxy.org.

This is a post from my link log: If you click the title of this post you will be taken the web page I am discussing.

  1. Day by day, Textpattern is becoming more lucrative. There are just some people that you don’t want to be associted with.

So do they they get ported to TypePad and MT? This can only make comment spam worse.

  2. Hey what do you know? LJ is a tool of resistance!

  3. I don’t think they would move them around at all. LiveJournal has a very different user base then both MT and TypePad. It can exist as its own service. Of course, I am not sure how much money LiveJournal generates. I get the impression there are very few paying members. Also, LiveJournal is built on top of an open source project. I wonder how the sale would effect that.

And that link is gold. I would laugh my ass off but I am at work.

Don't be shy, you can comment too!

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
