I'm still not entirely sure how well-behaved rsync is on the Mac.

  1. i am using rsnapshot over firewire. it is amazing. it uses rsync underneath, but automates the whole snapshotting process so i have daily, weekly, monthly pictures of my drive and it only takes up about 130% of the space of the data i am backing up.

    let me know if you need help setting it up or want a copy of my config file.

Some things to keep in mind: You can style comments using Textile. In particular, *text* will get turned into text and _text_ will get turned into text. You can post a link using the command "linktext":link, so something like "google":http://www.google.com will get turned in to google. I may erase off-topic comments, or edit poorly formatted comments; I do this very rarely.
